- Where are your main areas of software development expertise?
- It's a fast moving industry in which we work, with new technologies appearing on a regular basis. So where does our expertise lie? It lies wherever it needs to lie - as accomplished programmers we're always learning new skills. If pushed though, the Microsoft .Net framework is currently our platform of choice for server and "smart client" development, with C# being our favoured language. We also of course include javascript for web client development in our skillset, with the help of the jQuery libraries. And as for graphics development - we know our way around DirectX and HLSL.
- What technology did you use for your web site?
- We went for Kooboo, an open source CMS framework based on the Microsoft ASP.NET MVC framework. It's a productive environment to work with, and because of its underlying MVC technology it emits nice clean HTML.
- How does Idonix go about recruiting developers?
- When recruiting we place the brief for a small programming assignment on our site. We ask all applicants to submit the completed assignment (in a programming language of their choice) along with their CV.
- Why is Idonix based in rural Shropshire, not in London?
- Because Much Wenlock is a beautiful town situated in a beautiful part of the UK. We like it here, and it's only three hours from the capital!
