Changing Column Animations
Working with column animation speeds and paths
Step By Step Guide: Working with column animation speeds and paths
Get started by working with column animation speeds and paths.
1 To change the way the column chart animates, select the chart, within Details (you will be used to using the various options within 'Configuration'), use the side scroll bar to scroll down to the further adaption options available.
2 Now expand 'Animations'. There are also some advanced animation settings (within 'Advanced Settings') that are not covered by this knowledge base, and further adaption options, such as 'Rendering'.
3 The video shows a demonstration of the 'Animation Speed Multiplier' at the default - 1.0. To change the speed, change the value. E.g. 3.0 (this is further demonstrated in the video).
4 Changing the animations for the columns - using 'Column Animation Settings'. Note the yellow arrow to reset to defaults. This example indicates that the 'Resize Animation' has had its 'Animation Speed' reduced to 0.8.
5 The video provides a demonsatration of setting the speed to 0.1, prior to setting to 0.8. Also below 'Resize Animation' there is the ability to change the 'Animation Curve' (not covered in this knowledge article) and to add further 'Effects'. Use the '+' icon to add an element to 'Effects'
6 The adding of an 'Effect' creates three members: Mode, Animate From & Animate To
7 Changing the members within 'Effects'. Scale X, Scale Y & Rotate Yaw. In this example the 'Rotate Yaw' is selected, requiring a start ('From') position in degrees (if that is the chosen unit) and a finish ('To') position in degrees.
8 This is a snapshot from the video of the 'Rotate' Yaw' effect during the column animation. It has been captured during the transition 'From' 0 'To' 90 degrees.
