How to embed and reference chart images from external URLs

1 First watch our 'Images Preloading from Assets' knowledge base article that will introduce you to the 'Idonix - Image Cache'. Note: Below 'Preloaded Images', that in addition to 'Project Images', there is also 'External Image Urls'
It will also introduce you to "ImageKey" within JSON Data.

JSON Data with External URLs

2 This is what an external URL reference looks like in the JSON:
https://picsum.photos/id/1001/1080/1920 link - if you want to see it!
https://picsum.photos/id/1002/1080/1920 link
https://picsum.photos/id/1003/1080/1920 link

UE's Output Log - Added to cache

3 As the images being used are external a delay might be expected for larger images. If you 'preload' the images you can avoid this. Looking at UE's Output log we can first satisfy ourselves what is happening, prior to using 'Idonix - Image Cache' to resolve the issue. The image here is from 0:53 from the video.

Project Settings>Idonix - Image Cache>Preloaded Images>External Image Urls

4 Add the URLS to Project Settings > Idonix - Image Cache > Preloaded Images . Extenal Image Urls.

UE's Output Log - Automatically added to cache

5 So now if we clear the 'Output Log', and when we click play, you can see in the 'Output Log' that hose three images ahve been automatically added to the cache. So, when you animate the graphic, the images will already be loaded into memory and there will not be any delay.
