BBC election graphics

BBC News awards Idonix a long term contract for the provision of real-time election graphics and automation systems. With a service centred around the soon to be launched Ignition automation system and Idonix's expertise in Viz scripting, the BBC are assured of the best possible solution to their demanding requirements.

BBC News lower thirds

Idonix provide consultancy and training to the BBC in the development of a new suite of HD lower thirds graphics for their core news services. Using their Viz scripting skills, Idonix deliver robust transition logic to choreograph straps, tickers and dogs, and to manage the multitude of styles required by the BBC's news and current affairs programming.

Re-launch of www.ethicalconsumer.org

With a brand new look, the site includes fully interactive buyer’s guides that allow users to order company rankings based on their personal ethical stance. Idonix built the site using the DNN CMS, with the Buyer’s Guides fronted with JQuery and CSS5 and backed with a RESTful web service.

Graphics automation for the BBC’s marathon 2011 election coverage

A mammoth 22 hour session of live election coverage for both BBC News at Television Centre and BBC Scotland at Pacific Quays in Glasgow. Encompassing Local Councils, Welsh Assembly, Scottish Parliament, Northern Ireland Assembly and the AV Referendum elections, and driving Brainstorm graphics in London and Viz graphics (built by Idonix) in Glasgow, all from a common IGO control system.

Graphics automation for the BBC's 2008 US Presidental Election Coverage

IGO automation ran the graphics systems at BBC Television Centre for the coverage of the historic 2008 US Presidential elections, with Flash rendered graphic preview screens available to presenters in the BBC's Washington studio. Data was collected via FTP from BBC Online's Washington based results desk and the Associated Press VoteCount service.

Data visualisation for the E-Day web site

Eye-catching animated web-site graphics displaying real-time national electricity demand data from the National Grid. The lightweight, browser friendly graphics animations were built using just javascript, and 'AJAX' techniques (using JSON instead of XML in AJAX) for the data.

DNN website for Ethical Consumer Magazine

Implemented with the DotNetNuke asp.net framework, www.ethicalconsumer.org is a brand new fully content-managed web site for Ethical Consumer, the UK's leading alternative consumer organisation. Idonix created custom DNN modules to display syndicated content from www.ethiscore.org, and built a new CSS layout skin especially for the site.

Custom monitoring application for Independent Radio News' new satellite distribution system

Developed in C# under the .net framework 2.0, this system logs and displays the ongoing performance of IRN's Tellitec ip based satellite distribution system. The system is notified of the generation of new content, and continuosly polls three different ftp servers for it's delivery.

RefsBase, a .net application with a SQL Server backend, is a database containing information on the ethical behaviour of over 30,000 companies. It is front-ended by the Corporate Critic and Ethiscore web sites, also developed by Idonix. RefsBase is founded on our ground-breaking dataspace technology.

Automation systems for Microsoft live events

A number of projects using UniCue automation technology encompassing live graphics and gameshow control, working with PCI Fitch in locations including New Orleans, Amsterdam, London and Atlanta.

Gameshow automation for major US entertainment company

For this project Idonix developed the UniCue control system - a scriptable automation system encompassing graphics, interfaces to audience voting systems and studio control via MIDI, question data and operator panels. In use at theme parks in Florida and California.

QED has been used to provide Question and Contestant management systems for a number of major gameshow formats. To date it has been rolled out to locations as diverse as the UK, Germany, Russia, Georgia, Hong Kong and China.

Gameshow system for Thomson Holidays

In association with Outrageous, Idonix created a "gameshow on a laptop" for use at Thomson holiday resorts. The system outputs still and MPEG based graphics to a VGA projector, WAV and MP3 sound, and interfaces to an RF based audience voting system.

A system was provided to input and collate constituency result data, with distribution to various destinations and in various formats - including the Peter Snow "swingometer" and the BBC Intranet site. Based on distributed Jet databases and Message Queuing technology.
